Writing better prompts for AI UI generation

Prompt patterns that help U2C generate dense, realistic product interfaces instead of generic landing pages.

Try this workflow in U2C

Build a dense SaaS team settings screen with member rows, role controls, invitations, SSO status, billing contact, audit log, empty states, and compact B2B product spacing.

Start from this prompt

Describe the workflow, not only the look

A weak prompt says "make a modern dashboard." A stronger prompt names the user, the job, the data, the controls, and the states the screen must include.

For product UI, completeness matters. Mention tables, filters, bulk actions, empty states, validation states, pagination, sidebars, and realistic sample data when those elements are part of the screen.

Use structure words

Words like "operations dashboard", "CRM table", "settings admin", "auth onboarding", and "pricing billing" anchor the generated UI in a recognizable product pattern.

U2C UI Kits formalize that idea by giving the generator a required structure before style is applied.

Separate content from style

First define what the interface must do. Then add visual direction: dark product UI, editorial SaaS, compact enterprise, glass controls, neutral palette, or brand-specific colors.

This reduces random redesigns and makes follow-up edits more predictable.

FAQ

How long should a UI prompt be?+

Long enough to specify the screen type, audience, required regions, states, and style direction. A precise paragraph usually beats a vague long prompt.

Can I reuse prompts?+

Yes. Save prompts for recurring workflows such as dashboards, pricing, CRM tables, onboarding, and settings screens.
